Salsbery William P. "Bill", 54, born and raised in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia, then settled in Cherry Hill, NJ, sadly passed away on September 24, 2023.
Husband of Carrie Lyn (nee Osborn) and father of Zachary and Justin. Son of Barbara (nee Bunnell) and the late William A. Salsbery. Brother of Jason Salsbery (Liz), son-in law to Ozzie and Judy Osborn and brother-in-law to Jason Osborn (Angelique Cabral). Uncle to Jay and Dylan Salsbery and Adelaide and Alden Osborn.
Bill’s legacy of friendship, fun, and family runs far and deep from Philly to Ocean City to Somers Point, and then, ultimately, to Cherry Hill, where his friends often refer to him as the unofficial mayor of Cherry Hill. Bill’s innate ability to organize and bring both adults and kids together was his biggest gift. His leadership, generosity, and his contribution to the community was unprecedented due to his love and commitment to youth sports, especially when it came to coaching his sons and their teammates. Bill was someone we all looked up to as a friend, a husband, a father, a son, and a mentor; he was our head coach in every sense, and he will be missed dearly.
A celebration of Bill's life will be on Thursday October 5, 2023, from 11 AM to 3 PM at Pennsauken Country Club 3800 Haddonfield Road Pennsauken, NJ 08109. There will be a blessing and words of remembrances starting at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations can be made to Cherry Hill Atlantic Little League in honor of Mr. Bill. Gifts will be directed to support Atlantic’s 12U Baseball Teams participating in the annual Cooperstown Baseball Tournament, which was Bill’s most memorable event.
Cash/checks may be sent to Cherry Hill Atlantic Little League 1149 Willowdale Drive Cherry Hill, NJ 08003 or Venmo: @cherryhillatlantic.
