William Ignatius Stubits of Chalfont, PA passed away peacefully at home on October 14 after a short illness. He was born October 22, 1932 in Northampton, PA to the late Alois and Anna Stubits. He is survived by his 4 children Helen (Larry) Yeager of Bluffton, SC; Juneann (Billy) Soots of Elkin, NC; William (Lori) Stubits of Chalfont, PA and Mary Frances (Robert) Young of Quakertown, PA; and 2 grandchildren Tyler (Carlie) Soots of Boonville, NC and Julia (fiancée Jay Tryon) Young of Quakertown, PA. Bill was predeceased by his wife Helen of 56 years, sister Anna, and brothers Louis and Alex.
He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War spending a year in Puerto Rico.
Bill was an avid Notre Dame football fan and was not shy about promoting his team, especially on his many bus trips to Notre Dame games at South Bend. He was an active member of Saint Jude Church and Shrine in Chalfont, PA, serving for decades as an usher and lector, and participating in innumerable fundraising events for the Parish. He was also a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus, in which he served as Grand Knight, Holy Name Society and the Men of Malvern.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m., with a receiving hour from 9:30 to 10:30, Monday, November 15, 2021at St. Jude Church, 321 W. Butler Avenue, Chalfont. Interment will be at 2:30 PM at Holy Savior Cemetery in Bethlehem, PA. In lieu of flowers, the Stubits family would appreciate donations in Bill's name be made to either the Parkinsons Association, P.O.
