William “Bill” Sedgwick, Jr.

William Arthur Sedgwick, Jr. "Bill", a resident of Hatfield, passed away Monday September 6, 2021.  He was 78.  Born in Philadelphia (Roxborough), he was the son of the late William A. and Thelma (Williams) Sedgwick, Sr., and the brother of the late Richard B. Sedgwick. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Harriet (Nilsson) Sedgwick; beloved children Alison Pluck (Joseph), William R. Sedgwick (Colleen), Christian M. Sedgwick (Janet) and Lauren Pownall (Kevin); and 13 cherished grandchildren. He was also a caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Bill was truly a man of substance and character. Stationed in Germany for several years, he served as a specialist in the Army of the U.S. Armed Forces. He worked for the Budd Company for 38 years. He was a generous man with deep faith and conviction. He always emphasized putting God first and to follow the lessons of the Bible. Bill was an avid athlete, known as "Scooter", excelling in football and track. Admirable in every way, Bill was an adoring husband and dedicated father who treasured spending time with his family. He encouraged his family to get a good education, work hard in every endeavor and to find a job you love. Bill could always be found on the sidelines watching his children and grandchildren play sports and never missed a Duke Women's Soccer game.

Friends and relatives are invited to share condolences with the family, 9- 11 AM, Monday, September 13, 2021, at Scanlin-McDonald Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Avenue, Chalfont, PA. His Memorial Service will begin at 11 AM.
