William Allen Davidson, of Eureka, PA, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024 at the age of 95 with his family at his side.He was born to parents William and Marion Davidson on May 23, 1928, in Philadelphia, PA. Bill attended Frankford High School in Philadelphia until joining the United States Army and served in Japan through the end of WWII and during the Korean Conflict. His love of country and flying led him to join the United States Air Force in 1969, flying many missions in Europe and Southeast Asia as a loadmaster during and after the VietNam War.
While serving in Japan, William met Mary, the love of his life. who survives him They celebrated 72 years of marriage. Bill is also survived by daughter Louise, daughter Mary Lynne Fox (Gene) and son Gerald (Nancy) as well as grandchildren Tristan, Kimi, Leanna and Cassandra. Bill was preceded in death by his three brothers: Edward, Richard and James.Bill was a proud union man and was employed for 32 years by Bell of PA. Kindness and generosity were hallmarks of his life. A skilled tradesman and jack of all trades, he used his skills to help everyone with their projects, both large and small.He was deeply devoted to his family, a follower of Christ and a member of his church for over 60 years. Bill enjoyed his fellowship with Men of Faith and the VFW. Children’s charities were close to his heart and he supported them throughout his life, and he was very proud of his military service that spanned 5 decades. Bill loved cruising with family and friends, his beautiful yard and bountiful garden. He enjoyed a good scotch in the evening and living in bucolic Bucks County for 70 years. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10AM at Pleasantville United Church of Christ 3424 Limekiln Pike Chalfont, PA 18914 followed by a memorial service to commence at 11 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler. The family suggests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Shriners Hospital for Children in Bill’s honor.
