Thomas W. Keegan,92, passed away on December 23, 2023. Husband of the late Rosaria (nee Pasquarello). Father of Thomas (Nancy), Mark, Steve, Paul and Jim. Grandfather of Sophia, Kaylee, Abby and Samuel. Also survived by his sister Pam Burns (the late Wade).
Tom attended Cheltenham High School, Class of 1949, and became a radar technician in the Air Force during the Korean War. He served 4 years and was honorably discharged.
Tom then went on to attend Drexel University and later St. Louis University. After college, he got a job at WIP Radio which was above Gimbels Department Store. Where he met his wife of 44 years Rose as she worked for Ben Gimbel as his secretary. Later he got a job at CBS radio’s local affiliate WCAU, where he worked for 25 years and then went on to start his own sports broadcasting company, Keegan Sports Production (KSP). Tom engineered almost every major sporting event in Philadelphia for the last 60 years including many World Series, NBA Championships, Stanley Cups, etc. During his time, he made many friends in the broadcasting industry and is well known throughout the country for his work in broadcasting.
Tom’s favorite thing to do was just meeting and talking to people, he had a vast knowledge of all things and loved listening to Frank Sinatra and other old music. His favorite pastime was building things, like electronic equipment, RC planes and gadgets in general. He enjoyed getting ideas from Youtube, loved sports betting and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Friday December 29, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Church 259 Forest Avenue Ambler, PA 19002. Relatives and friends are invited to the Church Friday after 10 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Salvation Army 533 Swede St. Norristown, PA 19404 would be appreciated.
