Thomas J. Pagan, 80, of Huntingdon Valley and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away
peacefully surrounded by his family on June 11, 2024. He was the loving and dedicated
husband of 57 years to Harriet (nee Elliott). Tom was the son of the late Arthur and Jane
(nee Wolfinger) Pagan.
He was the cherished father of three daughters: Michelle Wagner (Steven), Christine
Pagan, and Donna Lee (Michael). He was the beloved grandfather ("Pop") to four
grandchildren: Thomas Joseph "TJ" Pagan, Calista Wagner, Michael Lee, and Ryan
Lee. He is also survived by his sister Mary Anne Holtz (the late Robert) and was
preceded in death by his brothers Arthur and John. He leaves behind many nieces,
nephews, friends, and granddogs.
Thomas graduated from LaSalle College High School in 1962. He then had a long
career in the Philadelphia Fire Department, achieving the rank of Captain. In addition to
his firefighting career, Thomas was an entrepreneur who owned Thomas Pagan Public
Adjusters.
He served as the President of the Board of Directors at Bustleton Swim Club for 30
years and was affectionately known as the "bookman" for his grandson's baseball
teams. Tom's grandchildren were the light of his life. He was deeply involved in their
lives, attending their events, supporting their endeavors, and celebrating every
milestone. He was their biggest fan and took immense pride in their achievements.
Tom was a true "Showdog" and made sure everyone knew it. He was a master of
playful teasing, using his unique sense of humor to show his affection. He had a knack
for making fun of those he loved, always in good spirits and never with malice.
Everyone who knew him understood that being on the receiving end of his jokes meant
you held a special place in his heart.
He enjoyed trips to Sea Isle and Myrtle Beach, playing golf, and watching the Phillies.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 9 to 10:45 AM at St. Albert the
Great Church, 212 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006, on Monday, June 17,
