Steven R. Cordell, 62, of Silverdale PA, went to be with our Lord in Heaven on June 18,
2024. He is survived by his wife Christine (Ege) and children Cameron (Lisa), Devon
(Kaitlyn) and Olivia. His is the beloved grandfather (DiDi) to Jameson, Dallas, Joliene,
George, and Maisy.
Steven was born on December 1, 1961, to Barbara L. (Skilton) and the late David R.
Cordell. He is also survived by his sisters Pamela (Illg) and Bonny (Fritz).
A graduate of George School class of 1980, Steve then went to York College and
graduated in1985 with a BS in Business Management. He married the love of his life,
Christine, in 1986 and went on to have three beautiful children. After a short rotation at
Twin City Monorail, Steve joined his father at D.R. Cordell & Associates, Inc. in July of
1986 where he would work for 38 years until his death. During his time there, he was
awarded 6 patents, held the position of company president for over 20 years, grew the
business as well as a nationwide network of contracted equipment sales
representatives, and stewarded the family business over its 50 th anniversary.
Outside of work, Steve gave selflessly of his time to multiple community entities
including the Chalfont Lions Club, Pleasantville United Church of Christ, Silverdale
Borough Council, Silverdale Planning Commission, Silverdale’s Economic and
Development Commission, and was a Republican Committeeperson. His efforts
culminated when he was elected Mayor of Silverdale Borough where he held that office
for over 6 years.
He was an avid cyclist with the GS Wheelmen, completing multiple 100-mile bike rides
over 12 years, a talented woodworker, and adventurous traveler. He was an exceptional
father and never missed an opportunity to support his children’s endeavors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Silverdale Borough for a park
bench commemorating Steve’s dedication to the community. The address is PO Box 187
