Stephen T. Rietzke Profile Photo

Stephen T. Rietzke, 56, passed away suddenly after a shocking and brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer on June 27, 2024, surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors. Husband of Kathleen K. (nee Kozin). Father of Kathryn, William (fiance Samantha Scoma), Owen, Aidan, and Dana. Son of Mary and the late Jon Rietzke. Brother of Kathleen Flibbert (Michael), Gregory Rietzke (Shannon) and Julie Disston (John). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Steve was always full of life and a friend to all. He enjoyed spending time with others drinking a Guinness and listening to the Grateful Dead while watching the sunset. He spent his time making slightly burnt pancakes on Sundays, golfing with his sons and friends, and enjoying the “occasional” cigar after dinner. Fall weekends were sacred, spent watching the Birds and Notre Dame football. He loved being a Delaware, Saint Joe’s, and Penn State fan. Vacationing in Avalon or Sea Isle was the highlight of every summer.

Steve spent many years on the Alumni Board at LaSalle College High School. He was involved with the Knights of Columbus, and the Father’s Club at LaSalle College High School and Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School.

He was the center of our community, and it gave him great comfort to know that his family would be strongly supported after his passing by family, friends, and neighbors.

Steve’s Celebration of Life service will held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at St. Rose of Lima Church located at 424 S. Main St., North Wales, PA, 19454. Relatives and friends are invited to the church at 11:00am for visitation, followed by the service at 12:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Steve's name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network [http://support.pancan.org/goto/steverietzke] or The Landon Vargas Foundation [https://landonvargasfoundation.org/donations/donate/].
