Stephen R. "Steve", 78, of Perkasie, formerly of Warminster and Collingdale, passed away on September 10, 2022. He was born October 13, 1943 at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late Horace and Mildred (Webster) Stilwell. Steve is survived by his loving wife Christine F. (Rohall) Stilwell. he was preceded in death by his brother, the late Douglas (Lisa) Stilwell of Levittown and his sister, the late Jane Stilwell of Philadelphia.

After his graduation from William Tennent High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served from 1963 to 1967. Following his military service, he began what would become a 38 year career in the newspaper business, beginning with the now defunct Philadelphia Evening Bulletin and continuing until his retirement in 2006 from the Times Newspaper in Trenton, NJ, where he held various circulation management positions.

After his newspaper career he worked part time at Wegman's Market in Warrington and the Limekiln Golf Course in Horsham. He enjoyed playing lively and competitive games of Scrabble with his wife, Christine. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and he enjoyed watching the games on television, especially the Phillies and the Eagles. His other hobbies included movies, exercising, golf, automobiles (both current and classic), listening to all types of music from the parents' big band era to classical (especially Mozart) .

He spent most of his mornings exercising at the SNAP fitness center or playing Golf with family, friends and co-workers at Limekiln.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation from 10 to 11 AM with his Funeral Service at 11 AM Monday September 26, 2022 at the Scanlin McDonald Funeral Home 175 East Butler Avenue Chalfont, PA 18914. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
