Ronald R. Thomas, Sr.

Ronald R Thomas, Sr from Hellertown, PA (formerly from Chalfont, PA) passed away peacefully on September, 18th, 2022 surrounded by his family at home.

Ron was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved by many near and far.

Ron was born in Portage, PA to Luella (Hall)and John Thomas on March 3, 1933. Ron moved to Chalfont in 1963 and lived in the same house until 2017, spending his working career at Sylvan Pools in Doylestown, PA. After the death of his most beloved and cherished wife, Gloria, in 2017, Ron moved to Hellertown to live with his son and daughter-in-law and to be closer to his daughter.

Ron enjoyed being outside, working in his yard. For many years while living in Chalfont, cars would go up and down the street - stopping to admire his yard - full of flowers, trees, statues. By the time he moved from there you could barely see the grass. His green thumb was huge and he loved to share his knowledge and plantings with everyone. He was an avid sports fan, always cheering for his beloved Steelers and Flyers. He was a self taught wiz in the kitchen, He could turn any ingredients into a delicious meal …..well done.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, his son Richard, his parents and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Ron and Sandy Thomas, Bill and Vicki Thomas, Chuck and Donna Reid, Bill and Barbara Roberts and Nick Thomas and husband Jamie . He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him dearly.

A private funeral service will be held on Friday, September 23rd at Scanlin-McDonald Funeral Home in Chalfont, PA Memorial contributions may be made to BAYADA Home Health who treated Ron with compassion and care during his final couple of months, in his home, where he wanted to live his final days.
