Robert E. Bartholomew

Robert E. Bartholomew, 93, of Perkasie passed away on October 4, 2024 at Doylestown

Hospital. Husband of the late Pauline (nee Hunsicker). Father of James R. Bartholomew,

Kathleen Suchodoloski (Edward), Sharon Bartholomew and Susan Ahern (Kevin). Grandfather

of Tina, Matthew (Heather), Lindsey (Paul), Megan, Joshua, Zachary and the late Christian.

Great Grandfather of Bailey, Peyton, Chase, and Addison.

Affectionately known as Pop to his family and Mr. Bart to his students, he was a diesel instructor

at the former Middle Bucks Vocational Technical High School for over 20 years. Also certified in

auto mechanics, he could fix any type of engine much to the dismay of his children who drove

the junk cars he fixed. Robert was a graduate of Girard College for orphaned boys, class of

1948, where he first learned his trade. He gained additional experience while serving in the U.S.

Army and attending Transportation School at Fort Eustis in Virginia.

Robert loved to tinker in the garage and spend weekends at the cabin in the Poconos where he

always cooked the family a big breakfast. He was a long-standing member of Deep Run

Mennonite Church West where he taught Sunday School for many years, served as

Superintendent of Sunday School, on the Spiritual Council, and Cemetery Committee.

Robert will forever be remembered for his willingness to help others, quirky sense of humor, and

deep love for his family. He is now reunited with the love of his life, Pauline, who lost her battle

with cancer in 1990.

In addition to his immediate family, Robert is survived by his sister, Dorothy Gahman, brother

and sister-in-law’s Harold and Patricia Hunsicker, Ray and Anna Hunsicker, Lee and Lois

Hunsicker, Larry and Ginger Hunsicker along with over thirty nieces, nephews, and their

respective spouses.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Deep Run

Mennonite Church West, 1008 Deep Run Rd, Perkasie, PA 18944. Relatives and friends are

invited to meet with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the adjoining church

cemetery.
