Robert “Bob” Aaron Rickert of Doylestown, passed away Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 84.

Born on August 1, 1932 in Hilltown, PA, Bob was the son of the late Peter and Emma (Albright) Rickert. He was married for 58 years to the late Dolly Rickert who passed away in 2010.

Bob served in the army during the Korean War and worked as an auto mechanic for over 50 years and drove a school bus for Central Bucks School District for 20 years. He was a volunteer with the Chalfont Fire Department and the Chalfont Ambulance serving many years as an Emergency Technician. He was a member of the Hilltown Baptist Church where he was a greeter.

Bob is survived by his four children Amy Rogers (Charles) of Coatesville; Jill Davidson (Wayne) of Schwenksville; Eric Rickert (Susanna) of San Antonio, TX and Glynis Schaefer (Mark) of Coopersburg. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren Patty Dengler, Richard Dengler, Jr., Karen Pietluck, Rachel Schmoyer, Adam Davidson, Rebecca Armstrong, Joshua Rickert, Ashli Jones, Aaron Rickert, Sarah Schaefer, Peter Schaefer; eight great grandchildren Jacob Dengler, Nathaniel Schmoyer, Evelyn Schmoyer, Caroline Schmoyer, and Molly Schmoyer, Grace Armstrong, Charity Armstrong, Catherine Rickert and four step-great grandchildren. Bob is survived by one brother Russell Rickert of West Chester and three sisters Rhonda Clark of Argus, Frances Kaufman of Harleysville and Fern Wilson of Bradenton, FL. He was predeceased by five brothers: Melvin Rickert, David Rickert, Paul Rickert and Mark Rickert and seven sisters: Ruth Walter, Matilda Redlow, Virginia Ruark, Mazie Mancinelli, Frances “Dolly” Lower, Esther Rickert and Florence Vogt.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 AM on Monday July 10, 2017 at Hilltown Baptist Church, 26 Upper Church Road, Chalfont, PA where the visitation will begin at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hilltown Baptist Church at the above address. Interment will follow at Hilltown Baptist Cemetery.
