It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the sudden passing of Patricia on December 12 th . She has always been proud of her independence and there is no doubt in her family's mind that she took control of her destiny to leave this earth.
Patricia was born and raised in Orange, NJ. In her earlier years she began her love for volunteering. Often you could find her volunteering as a "candy-striper" at Orange Memorial Hospital. She continued her community involvement with presidential politics in the late 1960's, and most notably her involvement in the planning of East Aurora, New York's sesquicentennial in the early 1970s.
After graduating from Columbia High School, Patricia earned a scholarship to Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where she proudly became a Registered Nurse. Even more exciting was that she was one of the first graduating nursing classes. Patricia made many friendships that she's maintained to this day.
More recently, she worked with NOVA (Network of Victim Assistance), and with wildlife centers. Her love of animals (and bugs) was a constant though-out her life. Many may remember her menagerie of animals that wandered around Moon Shadow Farm; ducks, geese, horses, cats, gerbils and dogsâ¦including Dinky the bark-less beagle.
Gardening also became a staple in her life. She inherited this love from her mother "Moo"; Muriel Moore Edward. She maintained gardens at all of her homes, and most recently at her apartment in Perkasie where she received recognition from the County of Bucks for its eye-catching beauty. She was voted by her apartment community to represent them on their council.
Her Wednesday night bridge games were legendary. Rain, nor snow would keep the bridge ladies from their marathon games. Strong friendships grew from the bridge games which then turned into fun-filled rowdy vacations together.
She is survived by her brother, William Edward and sister Kristin Edward Hammond.
She will be sorely missed by her children; Susan Mease McManus, Jon Mease (Susan Ellis) and Cindy Mease Yeoman (Charles), Former spouse Bob Mease and her grandchildren Garrett McManus, Kali McManus, Gavin Mease and Jeremy, and Dennis Yeoman. Her great grandchildren are Dominic Riffel, Aubrie and Blake McManus.
A celebration of her life will occur at a future time.
