Patricia Ann Hurrell

Patricia Ann Hurrell passed away on July 7, 2023 at the age of 79. She died in Reading PA at Berkshire Complete Care Nursing Facilility. Patricia, or Patsy, as she was known by her friends and family, was kind in character and held strong beliefs that embodied compassion, caring and empathy. She proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in Washington D.C. from 1962- 1964. Later, she dedicated herself to a career in caregiving and trained as a nurse's assistant. She recieved a degree as CNA and worked at Masonic Village Nursing Home until she retired at the age of 70. She made a career of carring for the elderly and vulnerable. She also had a passion for phototography beginning at a very young age. Wherever there was a family gathering, she was ready with her camera to capture smiles and events. She was, unofficially, the family historian, photo journalist and record keeper. She made it a point to remember and reach out on birthdays and important dates, making others feel seen and special. She was also an animal lover and will be missed by her cat Woody A.K.A. “Pip” Patricia is survived by her son James Hurrell, and her 4 grandchildren Brett, Pierson, Kaleigh and Reese. Brett is currently in his third year at The University of the Sciences, he has also joined the National Guard and goes to boot camp in September, Pierson Hurrell, 17 years old, is going into his senior year of high school at Perkiomen Valley where he is VP of the marching band. Kaleigh at 15 plays in her high school marching band and is entering her sophomore year. Reese, 15 years old, is entering his sophomore year and plays baseball year round. Patricia is also survived by her 2 sisters, Catherine Romano and Elizabeth Haas and 1 brother, Bradford Hurrell. Also by many nieces, nephews and their children and great nieces and nephews and their children. Not least of all, by her dear, dear friends, who will miss her deeply and remember her always.
