Pamela Barr Westphal passed away Saturday April 21, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital in Allentown. She was 58.

Born in Doylestown, PA, Pamela was the sixth daughter of Beatrice and Edward Barr.

She graduated in 1977 from Central Bucks West where she played field hockey and was a member of the Bux-Mont Champion Lacrosse team. She earned a Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Penn State where she played club soccer and was nationally ranked in kayaking. It was at Penn State where she met her husband Douglas Westphal.

Pam and Doug were married in 1984 and moved to Ben Lomond, CA. Pam worked in the agricultural chemical industry until 1991. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. As a woman experiencing Multiple Sclerosis, she helped the church become accessible by procuring a ramp allowing others using wheelchairs to attend services.

Pamela had a lifelong love of horses and riding. She was a talented knitter who enjoyed making sweaters for family and friends. She was a prolific story writer, with one of her Halloween tales published in the local paper. In 2003, she moved to Good Shepherd Raker Center in Allentown.

Pam is survived by a large and loving family which includes her husband Douglas, her mother Beatrice Barr, her sisters Beverly Spotts (Richard), Candace Errickson (David), Noreen Yodoff (Steven), Loretta Clift, Marlene White (Dick), sixteen nieces and nephews and eleven great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and Celebration of her Life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Lenape Valley Presbyterian Church, 321 West Butler Avenue, New Britain, PA. Friends are welcome to call at 9:30 AM prior to the service at 10 AM. Guests are encouraged to wear pink in memory of Pam. Interment will be private at George Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, 850 S. 5 th Street, Allentown, PA 18103-3308.
