Nicholas D. Melair Iii

Nicholas "Nick" D. Melair III, a resident of Warrington, Pennsylvania, was born in Elkins Park in 1959 and passed away from cancer complications on the morning of June 29th, 2017.

Nick is survived by his wife Eileen and two sons, Domenic and Michael. Also surviving are his parents Nicholas and Elaine Melair of Maple Glenn.

By the time Nick was 17, he had battled and defeated Hodgkins Lymphoma and met the love of his life, Eileen. The two were married in 1980 and settled in Warrington by 1985.

Nick worked the same job for the same company, Oppenhiemer Precision Products, for 38 years as a special projects manager in the field of Aerospace Engineer.

Nick loved anything with internal combustion and soon after marriage and despite other health complications he fielded a Late Model race car at Grandview Speedway. He then moved on to driving Sportsman Modifieds a few years later which he raced in Bridgeport, NJ and New Egypt, NJ.

Towards the end of his Modified stint, his first son Domenic came of age to race Quarter Midgets and from then on the torch was passed and Nick was now a car owner. His second son Mike joined and he then became a team owner. Nick traveled the country with Eileen, Domenic and Mike, from California, Oregon, Ohio, Florida, and everywhere in-between on the racing schedule to compete and spend time with his family that he loved so much. He was the epitome of a family man.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his Funeral Mass, 10 AM, Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave, Chalfont, PA. where the greeting will begin at 9 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation at www.nlmsf.org.
