Mary T. Bell

Mary Theresa (Jackson) Bell of Silverdale passed away peacefully on April 19, 2022, at Pine Run Health Center. She was 95. Born on March 25, 1927 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Edna (Hanna) Jackson. Mary attended 12 years of Catholic education and graduated from St. Hubert’s High School in 1944. She was a resident of Philadelphia until 1961. She loved to tell stories of growing up in Philadelphia with her beloved extended family. As a young woman, she worked at Gimbel’s department store as a human resources manager. There, she hired a  WWII Navy veteran, Robert J. Bell, who would become her husband.  Robert and Mary raised their family in Hatboro, Pa and enjoyed spending time in Florida and at the Jersey shore. Mary is survived by her four children, Robert J. Bell, Jr (Jean) of Hatboro, Susan M. Tobias (Frank Tobias) of Silverdale, James M. Bell (Sharon) of Doylestown, and Michael T. Bell (Katarina) of Doylestown. She loved her eight grandchildren, Eric, Robert, Douglas, Laura, Clint, Brittany, Michelle, and Sasha and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Alexandra. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bell and her brothers, Benjamin and Gerald Jackson. Friends and family are invited to attend Mary’s Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday April 25, 2022 in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church 100 Broad St.Hilltown, PA 18927 where a viewing will begin at 10. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
