Margaret E. Kalacznik

Margaret (Meg) Kalacznik, 65, died at her home in Kensington, Maryland on March 14, 2022. Meg was born in North Wales, Pa on June 29, 1956 to the late Eileen and Paul Kalacznik. She spent her childhood in North Wales, graduating from North Penn High School. She attended the University of Washington and the University of Maryland, earning a graduate degree in Speech Pathology. Meg’s life was a life of adventure and service, respect for the resources of the planet and attention to small moments of beauty. She travelled the world. She worked in several health care careers, as a dental hygienist, a massage therapist and a speech pathologist. Perhaps she found her true calling in teaching English as a Second Language, extending a respectful welcome and an open heart to immigrants from every corner of the globe. Her volunteer work was extensive, from helping to establish a library in Guatemala to organizing clothing drives in Maryland. She rarely passed up an opportunity to be of service, driving neighbors to cancer treatments, filling community library boxes with children’s books, and planting flowers in city parks. Meg accomplished all of this in spite of longstanding medical issues. Her faith, her quest for social justice, and her love of gardening were driving forces. Survivors include her sister Andrea Kalacznik, sister Monica Kalacznik, brother-in-law Stephen Rappaport, nephew Ethan Rappaport, and cousins Sandra Ross and Jeanne Pratt. Services will be held at Scanlin-McDonald Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Avenue Chalfont, PA 18914 on Friday, March 25, 2022. Visitation at 10:00 AM, Services at 10:30AM.
