Louise M. Rutherford, 95, of Lansdale, went home to be with the Lord, April 11, 2025. She was the beloved wife for over 61 years to her late husband, Harry Rutherford, who passed February 20, 2013.
Born April 22, 1929, on her father’s birthday, in Lansdale, she was the daughter of the late Boleslaw and Mary (Garczynski) Bienas. Louise was a 1947 graduate of the former Lansdale High School. Louise played the organ at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, North Wales, which she walked both ways from her home in Lansdale, prior to her marriage to Harry in 1951.
Louise is survived by her children, Thomas (Lynda), Joseph (Kathleen), Edmund (Eloise), Marylou (Joseph), and Luanne, her grandchildren, Anne (Eric), James (Anna), and Nathaniel (Allison), her great-grandchildren, Mary Anne and William, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her 4 brothers, Edmund Bienas, Ludwig Bienas, Leo Bienas, and Joseph Bienas, and her 2 sisters, Francis Artfich and Marie Groth.
The family would like to extend a grateful thank you to Nurse Betty and Nurse Carol at Elm Terrace Gardens, where Louise lived since 2006 in Independent Living. They were good friends to Louise, had many chats in the morning, and sweetly cared for her when she needed it. Louise spoke very fondly of both of them.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass 11am, Thursday, April 24 at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA. 19454. Her viewing will take place 10 to 10:50am at the church prior to Mass. Interment will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607-1460.
