Leigh Edward Hopkins, a resident of Doylestown, passed peacefully at Thomas Jefferson Hospital on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the age of 76.

Born January 16, 1944, Leigh was the son of the late Robert and Eleanor Hopkins.

Leigh graduated from Penn State University and then was awarded his PharmD from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. He spent most of his career working in Drug Information at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. In retirement he pursued many other interests including starting SkinSciences, Inc., SkinRenu skin care line.

Leigh maintained many hobbies, primarily golfing and gardening, producing massive amounts of fresh vegetables each year. Over the years Leigh enjoyed raising all types of animals: guinea pigs, chickens, goats and even emus. He loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. He was always willing and eager to help diagnose an issue and put in the time to research a solution. A fond saying of his was ‘95% Viral, 5% Bacterial”.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty Hopkins, his two daughters Heather Heathwood (Matthew) and Chris Grassel (Ron), and granddaughter Maddie Grassel. He is also survived by his brother Stewart Hopkins (Margaret), his niece Shelli Trimbur (Greg), two Great-Nephews Joe and Bill Trimbur, and his cousin Elizabeth Nicholas. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his nephew, Jedd Hopkins.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Jedd S. Hopkins Memorial Scholarship Fund, www.buckscountyfoundation.org.
