Kathleen M. Mcgrath

Kathleen Mary “Kathy” McGrath of Chalfont, PA passed away suddenly at the age of 75 on Sunday, August 21st. Born in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John “Jack” and Mary Agnes (O’Neill) Moors. She grew up in Chalfont, went to grade school at Mount Carmel, and attended Central Bucks High School where she was a member of the field hockey team and the class of 1965. After graduation she chose a career as a beautician and worked in the local area. In 1971 she was married to her beloved husband Bob, with whom she had 3 children, Shannon Mary, Robert Joseph, Jr., and Kelly Ann. They lived in Chalfont, where she owned and operated The Beauty Boutique until 2001. Kathy and Bob both loved music and enjoyed nights out dancing the jitterbug. Through the years she was a mainstay of the Tuesday night ladies bowling league at the Pit-Catcher Lanes, where she won numerous individual and team awards and helped to manage the league as well as organize the all important annual Bowling Banquet. In the summers she could often be found at the Lenape Valley Swim Club alongside her children. She never missed a swim meet or recital for her daughter Kelly, or a baseball game for Bobby. She also remained active with her high school class as a member of the reunion committee. In later years, following her stroke in 2001, you could find her enjoying crossword puzzles and watching movies starring John Wayne or Elvis, or her favorite old Western tv shows. Kathy is survived by her only son Robert J. McGrath Jr. (Rosie), and her granddaughters Grace Ann and Sofie Bella. She is also survived by her brothers, John (Sandy) Moors, Thomas Moors, and Michael (Shari) Moors. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert J. McGrath, Sr., and daughters Shannon and Kelly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday, August 25, at 10am, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11am, both at Saint Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave., Chalfont. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
