Karen L. Johnson

Karen L. Johnson, of Chalfont and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday March 20, 2018 at Doylestown Hospital. She was 63.

Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Dorothy E. (Buehler) Johnson and wife of the late Edward Nugent. She is survived by her daughter Amy E. (Johnson) Futch (George) and siblings Kristine Nilsen (Richard), Linda Malizia (William) and Leo Johnson. Also surviving are her grandchildren Joey McLaughlin, Sean McLaughlin, Jr., Christopher McLaughlin and Emily Shepherd. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Tyschyk (Lucky).

Karen was a gifted seamstress and once worked on Michael Jackson jackets and pieces for men's suits. She also worked making specialty teas and retired as a microfilmer. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the casino, playing bingo and buying scratch off lottery tickets. She was known for her "gift of gab" and loved talking on the phone.

Friends and family are invited to attend her Funeral Service, 11 AM, Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Chalfont United Methodist Church, 11 Meadowbrook Lane, Chalfont, PA where the viewing will begin at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Karen's memory may be made to Doylestown Hospital at www.doylestownhealth.org or to a charity of the donor's choice.
