Judith E. Rutherford (Powell), 73, passed away suddenly on September 23, 2022. Wife of the late Robert
E. and daughter of the late Roland and Ruth (Tarr) Powell. Beloved mother to David W. Pomeroy, Jr.
(Michelle), Randy Pomeroy (Tina Garvey) and Ruth Bukta (Laszlo). Stepmother to Kimberly (Willie)
Worrell of Warrington, James (Teresa) Rutherford of Springtown, Michelle (Larry) Knechel of Pennsburg,
Joseph (Jenn) Rutherford of Richlandtown, Robert Rutherford of Solbury; Judith is also survived by her
grandchildren; Allison Bromhead, Troy Rutherford, Trevor Rutherford, Madelyn Pomeroy, Jacob Bukta,
Nathaniel Bukta, David Pomeroy, III, and the late Steven K. Grabowski as well as her brothers; Robert
Powell, Jack Powell, William Powell and James Powell. Above all else, Judith lived for her husband,
children and grandchildren. She took pride in her role as #1 Mom and Grandma. She had an amazing
ability to parent her three children in ways that were unique to each. She was always there to listen and
to offer advice. The never-ending debate on who was her favorite will continue in infamy.
Judi loved spending time in the Poconos with her son David and her grandkids. She enjoyed visits to the shore with
her son Randy and lived close to her daughter Ruth so they saw each other multiple times a week and
spoke daily. Judi was a huge part of her grandchildren’s lives. She attended their games, drove the kids
to fishing spots, to work and hosted frequent shopping trips and sleepovers. Grandma had a never-
ending supply of Pop Tarts and Swiss Rolls in her cabinets. Judi had a wealth of knowledge when it came
to flower selections and gardening. She enjoyed planting flowers and took great pride in making sure
her gardens looked spectacular. She loved hosting the holidays and was most happy with all of her
family joined together around her dining room table. For the past several years, Judi enjoyed working in
the offices of Grandview Health Cardiology Alderfer and Travis.
