Joseph M. Gagliardi

Joseph M. Gagliardi, 100, of Holland, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born on December 29, 1923, in Philadelphia, PA and was a loving husband to the late Ella N. (nee DelBorrello). Joe is survived by his five children: Louis Gagliardi (Vicki), Carmina Gagliardi, Elisa Gagliardi, Anita Haley (Michael) and Nancy Thomas (Robert); and four granddaughters; Angela, Grace, Cara and Mia.

After graduating from North Catholic High School, Joe joined the Navy serving on a PT boat during WWII. He was in the same squadron as John F. Kennedy. His days in the Navy were some of his favorites. He never forgot his time there and could tell stories in great detail. When the war ended, Joe took over his father’s butcher shop in Philadelphia where he worked and raised a family for many years. After moving to Holland, Joe started out as a waiter and eventually took over managing Georgine’s Restaurant and banquet halls in Bristol, PA. When he left the restaurant, Joe worked at the Fine Wine and Liquor Store well into his 80s where he was honored as Employee of the Year his first year!

Joe loved nothing more than his family and entertaining. His Sunday dinners with family were his favorite things second only to his granddaughters, they were the light of his life.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at St. Bede The Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Southampton, PA 18966. The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by mass at 11:00 a.m. with an interment at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
