Joseph Anthony Pileggi, passed away after a sudden illness on January 31, 2024.
Born in 1942, Joe spent his early years in Elkins Park with his parents Bruno and Mary Pileggi and his 4 brothers: Frank, Vince, Tom and John and 4 sisters: Rosemary, Marianna, Anna and Margie. He is survived by his love, life partner and wife Marlene Cinquino. Together for 42 years they shared a lifetime of love. Joe loved his family. Nothing was more important or gave him more joy than spending time with his beloved children, Pamela Pileggi, Annette Pileggi-Dougherty (Kevin), Stephen Pileggi (Dren) and Anthony Cinquino (Cristina). His children will remember him as an amazing and supportive father, friend and confidant, who was a guiding force in all of their lives.
He truly adored his grandchildren: Alexandria (Sam), Kevin, Michael, Kristen (Micah), Tara (Ryan), Tyler, Bianca, Anthony, Simona and his great grandchildren, Jace, Sammy and Indie. They will miss his playful, teasing nature. He was the biggest kid at heart! He also treasured his nieces and nephews, and they share many wonderful Uncle Joey memories.
Joe’s early life
Joe grew up in Elkins Park and later Glenside. His father was the groundskeeper for the Elkins Family Estate. He and his brothers learned the value of hard work early in life. Working from the time he was a young boy with his father in their landscape company, he always had a love of the outdoors, plants and trees. He was known to have a green thumb which translated later in life to his own garden centers. He started Stone Depot, in Perkasie, with his son, Anthony, in 1996. He was the quintessential self-made man and was gifted in many ways. Early in his adult life he was a bar owner and restaurateur who loved a good party and was also an amazing cook. The family meals will be remembered and missed by all, not only for the amazing food but the laughter (his dry humor, unforgettable). He truly loved real estate and had an uncanny talent for recognizing the value of land and developing it to its best use. He spent most of his adult life doing just that. He had many wonderful friendships over the years and took a sincere interest in his friends and their families. He touched the lives of many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 9:30-10:30am Friday February 9th at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road North Wales, PA. Mass at 10:30am. Interment to follow St. John Neuman Cemetery, 3797 County Line Rd, Chalfont, PA 18914
