John Thomas Carney
August 7, 1959 — October 9, 2022
John passed suddenly from this world. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Born in Davenport, Iowa, he lived most of his life in Pennsylvania, in the Philadelphia area. He worked as management in Information Technology his whole life and was quite a guru. For many years he had his own company Carney Consulting LLC/Carney Technology Group. Most recently he worked for The Gilbertson Group, a computer security company.
He was a very talented man. He could do just about anything he wanted to learn. IT, woodworking, carpentry, electrician, car mechanic, cook, scuba diver, photographer, underwater photographer, ski instructor, golfer and guitar.
He was also always ready to help friends in need and was very generous with his time. He was a certified rescue diver, was affiliated with Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company, and volunteered at Good Works Inc.
John was an outgoing guy with an incredible personality. He was always ready to have a conversation and was quite the storyteller. He knew people everywhere he went. To know him was to love him.
He is survived by his son Timothy Anderson (Candis Derr Anderson) and grandchild Jude Anderson of Pottstown, PA; parents Gerald and Margot Carney of Lake Suzy, FL; siblings Jane Ann Carney of Hatfield, PA, niece Lauren Getz (Jared Getz) and grandniece Lily Getz of Quakertown, PA; Jill Carney (Cindy Warnecke) of Lancaster, PA; Jeffrey Carney (Kathleen Donnelly Carney) and his nephews Patrick and Daniel and niece Mary Kate of Hatfield, PA; Jody Carney of Hoboken, NJ; Janet Carney (Bob Gross) of West Chester, PA.
