John J. Garvin, on August 24, 2022, of Chalfont, Pa, age 68. Son of Elizabeth Biasotti Garvin (deceased) of Glenside, Pa.
John attended Immaculate Conception Grade School in Jenkintown, where he resided until moving to Glenside during his High School years at Bishop McDevitt in Wyncole, Pa.
From early on he was a participant in various entrepreneurial endeavors. Eventually, that led to his ownership of several crown and bridge dental labs spanning over a forty plus year period. His name, talent, and professionalism were well known in the industry.
His respect and understanding of nature were evident in how he lived his life. His many interests included woodworking, camping, traveling, attending concerts and reading. Music was always in his life, in particular the Beatles and Bob Dylan.
Over a beer after playing golf, he and Bill Evans (a good friend) were instrumental in starting up the Lenape Valley Basketball Scholarship Fund. The fund helped children who had lost a parent or had fallen on hard times.
He possessed a sharp wit, but underneath was a sensitive, patient and kind man. He was a loving husband, father, Poppie, and friend to many.
He was predeceased by his elder brothers Francis, Robert, Richard, Thomas and his only sister, Kathy.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Linda. Two sons, Jonathan (Kim) and Colin (Amanda) and two grandchildren Jack and Eleanor.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation after 11 AM Saturday November 12, 2022, at Scanlin McDonald Funeral Home 175 East Butler Avenue Chalfont, PA 18914. The sharing celebration of John's life will begin at 11:45 AM.
