James P. Gillespie

James P. Gillespie, a resident of Hilltown, died suddenly on Friday, August 18, 2017. He was 79.

Born in Delaware County, he was the son of the late Alexander and Alice Gillespie.

Jim was the beloved husband and best friend to his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Somers) Gillespie and devoted father to his children Kathleen Bartle (Frank), Eileen Schlemmer (Barry), James P. Gillespie, Jr. (Theresa), Patricia Gillespie (Justin), and Shannon Carney (Kevin). Jim was the loving grandfather to nine grandchildren and one great grandson. He was predeceased by his brother Alexander Gillespie.

He was a 44 year member of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish and served as an usher and Eucharistic minister. A devout family man, he especially enjoyed his "Poppy's Spaghetti Night" each Wednesday with his grandchildren.

Jim's professional life included serving as plant manager for A&M Communications and serving as director of operations for Decision Data.

He was loved by all and will be especially missed by his family.

Family and Friends are invited to celebrate his Funeral Mass at 11 AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church, Rt. 152 and Broad St., Hilltown, Pa. where the viewing will begin at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Darren Daulton Foundation 1339 Chestnut St., Ste. 500, Philadelphia, 19004.
