James E. Hasson

James E. (“Jim”),83, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024.  Husband of 57 years

to Sarah M. (nee McMonagle).  Father of James M. (Lisa), Anne Hyer (Raymond),

Christopher F. (Aimee). Also survived by 16 grandchildren and, his sisters Mary

and Peggy as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Phoenixville, PA in 1940 as the oldest of three children to James

H. and Cathryn D. Hasson. Jim graduated from Spring-Ford High School, obtained

engineering degrees from The Pennsylvania State University and Drexel

University, and completed graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania’s

Wharton School of Business. Jim served his country in the Army National Guard.

During his long business career, he held executive positions with leading industrial

manufacturers and later shifted his focus to entrepreneurial pursuits. Jim owned

several businesses and provided opportunities to hundreds of employees.

During his lifetime, Jim actively supported educational and environmental causes.

He served on the Board of Trustees at LaSalle College High School, LaSalle

Academy, Little Flower High School and Wissahickon Trails. He was always giving

his time, talent and treasure to help those less fortunate. Jim was also an avid

member of the Irish American Business Chamber & Network.

Other than his family, Jim’s passions included traveling with Sarah, long hikes,

driving his antique cars, giving children rides on his fire truck and collecting toy

trains (lots of toy trains)

Funeral Mass 11:30 AM Friday May 10, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Church 424 S.

Main St. North Wales, PA 19454.  Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing

at the Church Friday after 10 AM.  Interment Private. In lieu of flowers donations

to LaSalle Academy, 1434 N. Second Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122
