Gilbert F.C. Matthews, Jr., a resident of Pipersville, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022. He was 81. Born in Abington, he was the son of the late Gilbert, Sr. and Genevieve (Dalton) and beloved husband of the late Denise A. Matthews. Father of Christopher and Jason (Jennifer).
Gil began his career in the US Postal Service working his way up to Postmaster. But his true calling was the 21 years that he worked at Doylestown Country Club on the golf course maintenance crew. Gil’s main passion was playing golf. He also enjoyed watching his favorite local sports teams (Go Green), but most of all he loved his family.
Friends and relatives are invited to greet the family 6-8 pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2023, and 10-11 am, Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Scanlin McDonald Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA where his Funeral Service will begin at 11 AM, Wednesday. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Bucks County SPCA at http://www.bcspca.org
