Gerald G. “Gerry” Livesey, 86, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at his home in Harleysville, PA surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Missoula, MT on June 2, 1936, the son of the late Guri (Bloomquist) and Harry Livesey. He is survived by his brothers, Robert (Ruth), Glenn (Linda) and sister, Betty Ann (Swede) Gustafson. He graduated from Missoula County High School in 1954 and the University of Montana with a Bachelor’s degree in History. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Gerry’s love of golf began when he was a caddy as a kid at a local golf course. He worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad during high school and college. He served in the United States Army for 2 years after training with the 9th Infantry Division in Colorado. He was a journalist while stationed overseas in Germany during his service. His professional career at Aetna Life and Casualty began in California and spanned over 35 years before retiring in 1997 as Regional Manager of Insurance Operations in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. After retiring, he provided service to the Bucks County Transport by driving those with special needs. Gerry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Roberta “Bobbie” Livesey, nee VanGeem as well as two daughters, Lisa (Michael) Nagle of Trappe, PA and Hilary (Arthur) Cunnion of Linwood, NJ; and his granddaughter, Cassidy Nagle of Philadelphia, PA who affectionately called him “Pop-Pop”. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and half siblings he connected with later in life. He had a lifetime love of golf and grew beautiful dahlias in his garden. He was part of the Greater Philadelphia Dahlia Society where he also served as President for 6 years. He had a passion for history of antique collectibles. Even though he relocated to PA, he remained a loyal Montanan and continued to cheer for his University of Montana Grizzlies. He loved to read and enjoyed spending time with his family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 1634 Hilltown Pike, Hilltown, PA. Family and friends will be received at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd Memorial Fund or to a dementia charity of your choice would be appreciated.
