George W. Coulton, Jr.

Coulton George W., Jr., 98, passed away on February 4, 2024.  Husband of

the late Norma (nee Matthews). Father of Nancy Penrose (Ronald) and Barry

G. (Ann).  Grandfather of Denise (Jeffrey Meila), Jason, Sarah, Julie (David

Massa), Colleen (Kyle Raguz) and Patricia (Jake Tammero).  Great

grandfather of Mackenzie, Henry and Raegan.  Brother of the late: Richard

Coulton, Bruce Coulton and Barbara Roach.

George has lived in New Britain Borough since 1947.  He was the owner and

operator for 31 years of George W. Coulton and Sons Inc. excavating company.

George was very active in New Britain Borough Council and served on various

boards while attending New Britain Baptist Church.

George had a strong commitment to his family, who he loved deeply. He was

proud of his children and grandchildren of their individual accomplishments

and successes. He had an endless willingness to help any of them at any time.

His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. The family was

blessed to have him in their lives for so many years.

He was an avid golfer and fisherman. His favorite place to fish, boat, and truly

enjoy the outdoors was at his summer home just off the St. Lawrence River in

northern New York. He has passed down his love of this area to all in his

family.

In his last two decades of life, he embarked on several unusual activities for

someone in their later years. He spent time learning to fly at Queen City

Airport. After moving into Wesley Enhanced Living in Doylestown, he zipped

lined in the Poconos, rode in a race car, flew in a glider, and just last year

viewed the Doylestown area from a biplane.

George was a wonderful man who was loved by many and will be in our hearts

forever.
