Francis R. "Fritz" Frankenfield, 89 , from Huntingdon Valley, formerly from Warrington and Chalfont, passed away on Wednesday April 28 at Abington Hospital ,surrounded by loved ones.

He was the loving husband of the late Eileen Frankenfield (Smith) married for 68 years.

Born in Hatboro PA, he was the son of the late Leroy and Pearl Frankenfield. He was also predeceased b.y 2 sisters: Jean Callahan and Marguerite Clendaniels. He is survived by his 3 children: Francis R Jr (Virginia Byrne) of Quakertown, Alice Valenza (Sam) of Huntingdon Valley, and Mary Beth Cherry(Bill) of Bethlehem, 9 grandchildren; Michael Frankenfield(Jess),Annemarie Yerkes(Greg),Nicholas Valenza(Melissa), R. Samuel Valenza, Theresa Valenza, Joseph Valenza, Steven Cherry(Anna),Julie Rutt(Dean),Thomas Cherry(Jen) and 14 great grandchildren; Lane and Cheyanne Frankenfield, Alicia, Josh, Savy Yerkes, Vera and Rosario Valenza, Ben, Zack, Jake, Mandy Cherry, Maeve Cherry Dylan, Michael and Ellie Rutt, and many nieces and nephews.

Fritz and his wife Eileen were active members of St. Jude Church, and were founding members of the "Chicken Coopers". They were also very active members and established lasting friendships in their community of Legacy Oaks.

Dad, Poppy, Uncle Fritz were just a few names he went by. He was also known as Uncle Sam in 4 th of July parades, and for many years made many children smile when he portrayed Santa Claus.

Fritz attended Hatboro Horsham High School class of 1950, furthering his education with Philadelphia
Electric Company, where he worked for 38 years as a lineman and an Electric Service Foreman.

He retired from PECO in 1990, enjoyed retirement with Eileen square dancing, taking many bus trips, and travelling in his favorite Lincoln Town car. He loved going to flea markets, shopping for priceless treasures.

Fritz showed his strong faith in God by example to family and friends, always willing to lend a hand.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his Funeral Mass, 11 AM, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914 where his viewing will begin at 10 AM.  Please remember to wear mask and follow social distancing guidelines.   Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers to the family, please send donations to St. Jude's Church at the above address.
