Elizabeth T. Donohue of Chalfont, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 8, 2017. She was 86.
She was born in Abington and grew up in the family home on Susquehanna Avenue. She was the daughter of the late Thomas A. Donohue Sr. who ran a successful plumbing business and Elizabeth Kemmerer Donohue, who emigrated from Germany, and was a homemaker.
She was a devoted daughter to her mother. She, and her brother Fred, lived and cared for their mother in a home on Oak Lane Road in Cheltenham for many years. She relocated to Chalfont in 1999 to be nearer to her brother Jim and his wife Helen after her mother and brother passed.
The youngest of four, and cherished only daughter, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her three, big brothers, Thomas, Fred and James. They are now re-united in heaven.
Betty was a diligent and long-tenured employee of SKF Ball Bearing of Lansdale where she worked from 1949 until retiring in 1987.
She is survived by five nieces and nephews, Thomas Donohue of Worcester, Massachusetts, Chris Donohue Ehrlich, of Princeton New Jersey, Amy Donohue of Yardley, Diana Donohue Trout of Glenside, and Steven Donohue of Langhorne, as well as seven grand nieces and nephews, and three great grand nieces and nephews.
Our gentle, gracious and kind Aunt Betty had a sneaky sense of humor and loved her sweets. She also loved bingo, word scrambles, watching old movies and her Phillies. We will miss her.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her Funeral Mass, 11 AM, Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Saint Jude Church, 321 W Butler Ave, Chalfont, PA where the viewing will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Disabled American Veteran's at dav.org. or the Special Olympics at specialolympicspa.org
