Elizabeth (Betty) Josephine Fein passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 100 years on Saturday, May 15, 2021. She was the wife of the late Irving F. Fein, who passed away in 1997 after they shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in New York City on September 28, 1920, she was the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth Wirth and sister of the late Virginia (Ginny) Wirth Jefferies. She was predeceased by her son, Arthur (Jeff). She lived in New York until the family moved to Jamison in 1953.
Betty became an RN after high school and was a weekend night nurse at the old Doylestown Hospital. She became a school nurse in Warwick Elementary and was a school-nurse instructor at West Chester as she also studied to get her teaching credentials. She finished her working career as an elementary school teacher at Butler Elementary, Chalfont. She taught until she retired to Deltona and later Ft. Lauderdale, Florida before returning to live in Chalfont.
Betty loved teaching and the vacations she was able to take to Europe and the Middle East soon after she retired. In Deltona, Betty enjoyed long walks with her Doberman's and dancing with Irv at the local country club. Into her 90's, she enjoyed beach vacations with her son's family, email Scrabble, crossword puzzles, reading and libraries.
Betty is survived by her son, Kenneth (Karen) of Chalfont,and loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews and their families. She also leaves behind 5 wonderful women who were her caregivers at home for the past 5 years.
