Elaine A. Batcho, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2021, at the age of 87. A long-time resident of Chalfont, P.A., she is survived by her loving children: Kathy Polyniak (Ron, deceased), Joseph M. Batcho (Nancy), Beth McNamee (John), and Stefanie Batcho-Lino (Nelson) as well as her younger brother Gerald, eight adoring grandchildren (Patrick, Meghan, Luke, Jacob, Veronica, Stephen, Bjorn, and Torben), and many nieces and nephews. She met her husband of 35 years, the late Joseph Batcho, in Buffalo, her birthplace. She was the daughter of the late Martin Soltys and Helen Wrzesien. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Thomas Barnett.
A teacher in the Central Bucks School District for many years, Elaine earned a master's degree in education from the State University of New York at Buffalo after getting a bachelor's degree from Buffalo State Teachers College.
Elaine loved reading (an understatement), playing bridge, gardening, and going to concerts, plays, and museums in earlier times. She was a member of the Chalfont Historical Architectural Review Board and a volunteer at DeSales University Theatre and Meals on Wheels. Her lifelong goal of travel was accomplished when she traveled to every continent in retirement.
