Edward J. "Ed" Price of Chalfont passed away April 18, 2017, at Neshaminy Manor in Warrington. He was 80 years old. Ed is survived by his son, Gregory, and grandson, Jackson, both of Plano, Texas, his sister Jane (Price) Vincent of Land O Lakes, FL, and his Sisters-in-law Kathy Krajci (George) of Southampton and Dale Doran of Slippery Rock. Ed was predeceased by his loving wife, Judith (Doran) Price, his daughter Cheryl Price, and his brother Roland.

Born in Drexel Hill, Ed was the son of Roland and Henrietta (nee Savidge) Price, though he found himself in the foster care system as a toddler when the effects of the Great Depression and the War in Europe split up his family. After a number of years in foster care, Ed became a student at Church Farm School in Chester County, and graduated in 1954. From there, Ed served in the Air Force for 3 years, where he attended Nuclear School and studied electrical engineering, which would carry him through his career for the next 40-plus years. Ed reconnected with the members of his immediate family, which evolved into a very strong and supportive family unit despite the odds.

Ed met his wife, Judi, while working at Sonex, and they married in 1965. They raised their two children in the small community of Oreland, where they lived until 1992. After moving to Chalfont, Ed left a long time position with Aydin Corporation in 1997 to start up a new venture with several former co-workers, but after the untimely passing of his wife, he decided to retire and focus on his other passions. Ed was hit hard by the tragic passing of his Daughter, Cheryl, in 1999, but found solace and renewed energy in the various historical organizations of which he was a member, and in which he served many important roles over the years.

His most recent project was starting the William Tennent House Association, a group dedicated to saving and restoring the original residence of William Tennent - founder of the seminal Log College nearby. Ed spent much of his time and energy into recruiting a great team of people and ensuring the project had the momentum it required. Ed's reverential regard for the property's historical value made sure that even the most minor of details merited the attention and care of the group involved, and their work continues apace thanks in no small part to his efforts.

Friends and family are invited to attend Ed's Memorial Service 11 AM, June 19, 2017 at Scanlin Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA where the greeting will begin at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in the name of the Ed Price Memorial to the William Tennent House Association, P.O. Box 2572, Warminster, PA 18974.
