Dorothy (Dottie) B. Steel of Chalfont died Saturday at Abington - Lansdale Hospital - Jefferson Health. She was 93.
She was the wife of the late George E. Steel.
Born in Statesville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lola Baumgarner. She travelled to the North during WWII and worked in a munitions plant in Southeastern Pennsylvania where she met the love of her life George, while he was on leave from the Navy before discharge after the War.
A resident of Chalfont for 62 years, she along with her husband owned and operated Little Farm Estates until 1995. She resided at New Seasons at New Britain for the last 7 years, where this “feisty little lady” will definitely be missed.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Montgomeryville for 52 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon L. Hood of Chalfont; her grandson, Gregory T. Hood and his wife Lisa of Chalfont; three great-grandsons who she loved dearly; a niece Cindy Beck; and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received at 10am until her Funeral Service at 11am, Friday, March 23 at Faith Lutheran Church, 615 Cowpath Road, Montgomeryville. Interment will be private.
