Dolores L. Hellerman

Chalfont PA. - Dolores (Dolly) Louise Hellerman (nee Ford) 94, died Monday, October 23, 2023, in her home on Pasture Lane.

She was the daughter of Albert Edmund Ford and Mary Ford (nee Bell). Her three siblings: Mary, Alberta, and Mildred predeceased Dolly. She leaves her husband of 74 years, four children, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Dolly was married to Alfred James. They had four children: Harry (Dorothy) Mark (Marianne), Kim (Richard) Hoot, and Tina (Timothy) Shull. She had four grandchildren: Matthew Shull, Tanya Schwamberger, Jason Hellerman, and Daniel Hellerman. She had eight great-grandchildren: Miles, Calvin, Dash, Chase, Sawyer, Owen, Christopher, and Michael.

Dolly was born in Philadelphia, grew up in Warminster then raised her family in Doylestown. She later moved to Quakertown and then finally to Chalfont.

Dolly worked as an administrative assistant as well as volunteering at New Britain Baptist Church, Doylestown Library, Meals on Wheels (for over four decades), and knitted hats, mittens, and sweaters for the local church and hospital.

From Dolly’s journal: “Throughout my life, I truly felt God’s presence. I am convinced he brought Jim and I together. For all the people he brought into my life, I thank God for them, and all they did to help make my life so fulfilling.”

Services and interment are private.
