Diane M. Doherty, a resident of Chalfont, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 5, 2020. She was 80.
Born in Philadelphia on January 23, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Regina (Casey) Riordan.
Diane was a devoted administrative assistant at State Farm Insurance Company for 20 years where she met some of her dearest friends.
Diane was a kind and gentle soul, selfless, with a heart as big as the world. She was smart, insightful, funny, genuine, and generous as can be. She embraced life with such grace and possessed a perpetual strength and courage for everything that came her way. She was always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it and was very supportive of her loved ones.
Diane loved anything Irish including her Colleen McBride Irish Group where she helped organize and participate in fundraisers, St. Patty's Day Parades and afternoon teas. Diane also loved researching her Irish roots, crafting and cherished lunch dates with her friends. She also cherished every moment with her family.
Diane leaves behind her beloved husband Denis J. Doherty, who was the love of her life. Also surviving are her beloved children Cheryl Anne Harte (Kevin), Richard Roberts Jr., Diane M. Roberts Mitchell (Eric), Lorrie Ann Mancino and Dyan Hipszer (Dana); 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her Funeral Mass, 11 AM, Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA where the viewing will begin at 9:30 AM. Please remember to wear a mask and practice safe distancing. Interment will be private. A memorial celebration will also be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Judes Children Hospital at www.stjude.org .
