Denise A. Matthews, a resident of Pipersville, passed away suddenly Friday, October 13, 2017. She was 65.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie (Denning) Why and beloved wife of Gilbert F.C. Matthews, Jr. Denise is also survived by her beloved children Christopher and Jason (Jennifer) and brothers Neil Why and Drew Why.
Denise worked as a bookkeeper. In her spare time she enjoyed playing golf, had a passion for gardening and was an animal lover. She also was an avid reader and loved solving puzzles. But most of all she loved and will be missed by her family.
Friends and relatives are invited to greet the family 7-9 pm, Wednesday, October 18 or 10 am - 11 am, Thursday, October 19 at Scanlin Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA where her Funeral Service will begin at 11 AM, Thursday October 19. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Bucks County SPCA at http://www.bcspca.org .
