Denis J. Doherty

Denis J. Doherty, a resident of Chalfont, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022. He was 87. Born in Philadelphia on May 21, 1935, he was the son of the late Denis and Nora (Corley) Doherty. Denny was an active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, he enjoyed talking and learning all things Irish. He was a member of the National Guard and loved all cars (old & new). Denny never missed a chance to tell a funny story about his horse, Dusty, and his dog, Sporty, from his childhood. He always had a joke ready to tell you that fit any scenario that he happened to be in. Denny’s kind, gentle, quiet spirit along with his wonderful sense of humor made him a true gentleman. Family was in his heart at all times, all his family knew how much he loved each and every one of them. Denis was preceded in death by his wife Diane M. (Riordan), who was the love of his life, He is survived by his beloved children Lorrie Ann Mancino, Dyan Hipszer (Dana), Cheryl Anne Harte (Kevin), Richard Roberts Jr. and Diane M. Roberts Mitchell (Eric); 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his Funeral Mass, 11 AM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA where the viewing will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Denis’ memory may be made to the American Lung Association at www.action.lung.org. For those coming to the church, please be aware that a large portion of the parking lot is taken up by the parish festival and you may need to walk a bit of a distance to enter the church.
