Debra-Jean Reed

Debra-Jean Reed, a resident of Quakertown, passed away Saturday April 20, 2019 at Abington Hospital. She was 63.

Born in Queens, New York, she is survived by her loving wife Mary Ellen Sprigg; beloved children James Reed (Jennifer) and Christopher Reed and grandchildren Audrey Cochran and Christopher Reed, Jr. Debbie was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Virginia Rodgers; her brother Thomas Rogers; her three golden retrievers Lasso, Reba and Travis and her precious calico cat Yoshi.

Debbie also leaves behind an extended family who traveled this journey with her; including many close, personal, longtime friends; the Pastor, Deacons and congregation of Lenape Valley Presbyterian Church; co-workers/ friends of Devereux Foundation and the kind, compassionate nurses and CNA’s of Abington Hospital 2Widener.

Debbie worked in accounting for many years as an Accounts Payable Specialist. She was energetic in all aspects of her life. She was a good athlete, passionate about soccer, her Steelers and Eagles, her crazy infatuation with Star Wars, her love for cats and dogs especially golden retrievers and her devotion to her family, extended family and friends.

She also made a mean tomato sauce. Debbie had a special way of interacting with people that made them love her just by her smile.

Friends and family are invited to attend her Memorial Service, 11 AM, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Lenape Valley Presbyterian Church, 321 W. Butler Ave., New Britain, PA where the greeting will begin at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Debbie's memory may be made to Asplundh Cancer Pavilion / Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Abington at www.jeffersonhealth.org .
