David “Scott” Macklin, 90, of Hilltown, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on
March 31 st , 2023 in the home that he and his wife built by hand in 1970.
Scott was born on July 28 th , 1932, to Catherine and Elisha Scott Macklin in the
Germantown section of in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from high school, he
went on to join the U.S. Navy and served for 2 years. After completing his service to
the country, he started his decades long career as an electromechanical draftsman.
In 1965, he met Jane (Smith) Macklin, and they wed in 1967, and had two wonderful
children Janel and Eric. Scott was the perfect match for Jane, and his goal in life was
to make her happy. They would have celebrated their 56 th anniversary on April 1 st ,
2023. Scott had a love of wooden model ship building, watching old movies with his
daughter, teaching carpentry to his son, sailing his 28 foot sailboat on the Delaware
River, and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Scott is predeceased by his parents, sister, Adelaide and brother, Alfred. He is survived
by his wife, Jane; his two children Janel C. Macklin; Eric D. Macklin; and his niece
Phyliss Gimber.
The funeral service will be held at Scanlin McDonald Funeral Home 175 East Butler
Ave Chalfont, PA 18914 on Monday April 10, 2023 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are invited
to his visitation at the funeral home after 10 AM.
