David was the second child of Paul Sr. and Grace (McCrae) Thiebeau. He was born in Watertown, NY, and was raised in Clayton NY along the St. Lawrence River with his older brother Paul Jr.
David attended Syracuse University where he won numerous awards for his musical talent, even playing in the Rose Bowl Parade and halftime during the game. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Botany and then went on to work at the Experimental Station in Geneva, NY.
While working at the Experimental Station, he met his wife of 56 years, Julie Ann David. They were married on April 8, 1967, and later had three sons, David Jr, John, and Jim.
In the early days of commercial winemaking, David had a significant impact on wine production in Pennsylvania, first working along the Lake Erie coast before finally settling in Bucks County where he finally retired from the business after a long career.
Not one to sit still, David then created his construction company, D&D Contractors where he would work side by side with friends and family until he finally retired to spend time traveling with Julie.
David loved the outdoors. He enjoyed numerous hunting, camping, and sailing trips throughout the years with both friends and family. He was very active in the Living History community, attending many rendezvous reenactments where he enjoyed blacksmithing, black powder shooting, and visiting with his many rendezvous friends.
David’s absolute biggest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Shelby, Cole, Grace, Molly, Jake, Ella, and Veda.
David was much loved and will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. The impact he has left on everyone he came into contact with will always be a part of our most cherished memories.
