Colleen M. Gildea-Mitchell

Colleen M. Gildea-Mitchell of Chalfont, PA passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family after a short, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Philadelphia, daughter of Thomas and Jane Gildea.

Colleen grew up in Southwest Philadelphia, graduated from West Catholic High School and Drexel's Moore College of Art & Design. In her younger years she held many jobs as an artist in the printing industry. For over 20 years she was the office manager at Bill Mitchell's Auto in Chalfont where she met many lifelong friends that she could laugh with. She loved reading, crossword and cryptogram puzzles, music, dancing, drawing and listening to books on tape. Most of all loved farming and getting her hands dirty. She was a farm girl at heart her whole life and her dreams were fulfilled to own and operate her farm tending to her cows, chickens and her large vegetable garden. She loved to cook and have large family gatherings. Having her family, extended family and friends around to feed was another favorite whether it was a holiday or just because.

Colleen is survived by her husband William Mitchell of 30 years. Her daughters, Jenell Tasker (Ron), Margret Russo-Kerns (Joseph), Colleen Russo, her grandchildren, Rabecca Kerns, Chelse Burton(Rich), Joseph A Kerns (Gisselle), Richard Burton (Lacie), John Burton (Haley) and Mariah Murray and great-grandchild Mason and her loving dog Molly.

There will be a celebration of life luncheon held on Saturday Oct 5th between 12 to 5 at Bill's Mitchell's Auto 57 Bristol Rd Chalfont all are welcome to attend.
