Catherine F. Young

Catherine Young, born in 1939 in Philadelphia, passed away surrounded by family. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Young Sr. and a devoted mother to five children: Joseph Young Jr., Kathleen Steuer (Paul), Bethann Mallon (Thomas), Jennifer Myers (Brian), and Trish Gillen (Brian). Known for her thoughtful gift-giving and remembering birthdays, she was our "queen" with a great sense of humor who brought joy and laughter wherever she went.

Catherine left a lasting impact on our family and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Alongside her late husband, Joseph Young Sr., she owned Dunkin’ Donuts stores, dedicating many hours to support her family. She cherished time spent with her family in Ocean City, NJ, enjoying the sun, shopping, and her favorite restaurant, The Crab Trap.

Catherine graduated in 1957 from Little Flower High School and raised her family in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia before moving to Upper Gwynedd in 2016 She is survived by her loving family and remembered alongside her husband, sister Joan and brother Thomas. Donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital are welcomed in her memory.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service to celebrate Catherine’s kind heart and the happiness she brought to our world on Saturday September 7, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Cecilia Church 535 Rhawn Street Philadelphia, PA 19111.  Burial will be private.
