Carole L. Burpee

Carole L. Burpee, 82, a resident of Souderton, PA for the last 13 years, passed away October 9, 2023, at her home. She and her husband, Jon Burpee, recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on September 4th. They had formerly resided in Chalfont, PA, for 37 years, and prior to that in Clinton, IA.

Born February 19, 1941, in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Osmond Lamson and Celia (Buzzell) Lamson. Her family moved to Syracuse, NY, and later Philadelphia, PA. She was a 1959 graduate of Lower Merion High School. She also attended Lasell Junior College in Newton, MA.

Carole started her career as a medical secretary for a pediatrician’s office. After having children Carole worked as a teacher’s aide and an innkeeper. Carole was an avid volunteer for the Chalfont Fire Company and Doylestown Hospital Maternity Unit.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Meg Treacy and her husband, Jim, of Coopersburg, PA, and two sons, Brad Burpee and his wife, Wendy, of Schwenksville, PA, and Bryan Burpee and his husband, Joseph Hill, of Seattle, WA, and seven grandchildren.

The family will begin receiving friends at 10AM followed by a celebration of life service at 11AM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Lenape Valley Church, 321 W. Butler Ave, New Britain, PA. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the YMCA Preschool Program 2500 Lower State Rd, Doylestown, PA 18901
