Bette Topley Jack, 88, of Doylestown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 12 at the Pine Run Retirement Community Health Center in Doylestown, PA. Mrs. Jack is survived by her daughter Amy Jack Powless (Wayne) of Darien, CT; and two granddaughters, Emma Jack Powless and Sarah Davison Powless. She was predeceased by her daughter Cynthia Jack in 2002 and her husband Robert Jack in 2020. Bette was born in East McKeesport, Pennsylvania to John Topley and Thelma Davison Topley and was raised in East McKeesport. After graduating high school, she attended Chatham College in Pittsburgh. While attending Chatham, she met Robert. They dated while she attended nursing school which took her to New York City. Robert’s job post college also took him to New York. They married in 1960 in Pittsburgh and settled on Long Island, NY where they raised their family. They owned Main Street Nursery & Florist in Huntington for 27 years. After retiring, they moved to Pine Run Retirement Community in Doylestown, PA in 2008. Bette will be remembered as a warm, caring friend. She enjoyed being a part of a community, singing in the choir and volunteering wherever her energy was needed. She was a very active member of the Huntington United Methodist church. The greenhouse and gardens at Pine Run were the beneficiaries of Bette’s efforts over the years that she and Robert resided there.
