Bette E. Schwartz

Bette E. Schwartz, a former resident of Chalfont, passed away peacefully at Greenleaf Nursing Home on Monday November 5, 2018. She was 86.

Born in Hamlin Texas, she was the daughter of the late Ocie and Jessie Sumner and loving wife for 50 years of the late Thomas J. Schwartz. Bette was the beloved mother of Janet Welch (the late Jack), Deborah Walker (Ken), and Brenda Bossard (David). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, her sister JoAnn Ryan (Dan) and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Bette was predeceased by her sons Jerry Ohm (the late Theresa) and Milton Ohm (Cheryl).

Bette worked for GSA for 24 years retiring in 1996. She loved her job, cooking, playing cards, bowling, and going to the casino and racetrack. But most of all she loved her family and friends and we were all blessed to have been able to call her wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.. She will be forever in our hearts.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service 11:30 AM, Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Scanlin Funeral Home, 175 East Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA where the greeting will begin at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org .
